Still not sure if I'm going to finish this book. Murder, rape and torture are described with much refined details. The very opening is about a woman nailed on a cross.

I was looking for an epic book on Toussaint Louverture, who is such an intersection character. I understand the Haitian revolution was bloody as hell, but I would have been more than convinced with half of the description.
