In The Cities, The Hills: this is the story that i remembered best from this collection (not surprising). This time I caught the "stale incense, old sweat, & lies" line which my brain involuntarily followed up with LIES LIES IT COMES DOWN TO THIS etc. Kind of like finding out that "piper at the gates of dawn" refers to a random encounter in wind in the willows. Weird that i didnt catch that before.

Re: midnight meat train, the special station for cleaning out the murder train is "pristine" and there are all kinds of people working there. There are people whose job it is to hose out the murder train every day. ?? ??? Forget a slice of life about the butcher, give me the story of the midnight meat train clean up crew and station manager. & how they get all of that into the budget. I am serious! I wanna know

Rereading this cos i am up at 3 AM in pain and grumpy. 1. "Book of Blood" = Illustrated Man frame but with more stabbing; which story goes to which body part? 2. Midnight Meat Train: would have preferred a subway butcher slice of life story, (Ha Ha Ha), does this guy get benefits? Is this a gov't job? Are they hiring. 3. Yattering was cute but I've been spoiled by the demon stories in "Lilith's Cave"
