This is going way too slow for my liking. The main characters have been introduced: Aaron Lightner, Deirdre Mayfair, Rowan, Michael Curry. At least I think these are the main characters. Do I need to know every bit of detail of their personal lives? When are all these threads going to converge?

And the threat from Belial has not manifested. Three hundred pages of teen-angst with a couple of tiny discoveries but nothing else. Alistair pining for Thomas and Thomas pining for Alistair. Cordelia pining for James but, also attracted to Matthew and on and on. This love triangle scheme happened in the Dark Artifices between Christina, Mark and Kieran. In the meantime I've not clue what is Belial planning.

Matthew is in love with Cordelia who is attracted to Matthew but, Cordelia is in love with James and James is in love with Cordelia. Here we go again! A f@#ng love triangle. James goes to Paris and finds his wife and parabatai kissing and fondling each other and stupidity ensued. Sick and tired of this over-used premise in Ms Claire's latest books.

After reading this far and having learned a few more details of certain characters I wonder if the killer could be Razan's twin brother? I mean, the pathologist did say whoever did it made sure Razan didn't suffer. Hmmm...
I do enjoy a good mystery/crime story.

She sees the tattoos. Those in his fingers meant he'd been a thief and assassin but our heroine ignores them. The scars made her go 'aw, you poor baby!" What about the people he maimed or murdered?

"More reminder of how much pain his body had taken. Yet this scars..." "What woman would be able to resist him? A better woman than I" Right you are!

And nothing has changed. Natalie is still eager to lose her virginity like a f%^&!ng teenager. She is getting closer to daddy dearest, questioning nothing, feeling nothing but the the joy of having a dad. Playing the hot and cold game with Sevastyan. Natalie is someone I dislike as much as Bella Swan but for different reasons. Not sure how long I'll keep on reading.

Natalie couldn't care less about how many bodies Sevastyan and Kovalev had buried or dismembered; but she did care about finding out more about Sevastyan's dome tattoos, and of course how to get him to assist her with doing away with her hymen. That's a girl with her priorities straight. My patience is running short

I have the feeling that Jacobi will find Violet as soon as she marries Daniel. News will travel and bad guy will catch up to her. Because no matter how many times she says no, like most romantic heroines she will give in and will end up back in England. Will I be proven wrong or right?

Did not finish. Nope, 60 or so pages in and I couldn't care less. Characters felt flat, failing to sound like the characters in the recent movies, premise didn't hold my interest either. Too bad, I was kind of looking forward to read it but life is too short and there plenty of books to enjoy out there.
