So I know this book and the importance of it talking about a society that changed. However, it is boring.

So far I don't really like the writing style, but I am thinking it will get better once all the background is laid.

Only 16 pages in and I'm loving it. Funny and dark and Kim Harrison really knows how to put you in the scene

This book is awesome. The writing superb, the fairy-tale type writing in a modern twist is brilliant! I have already laughed out loud and cringed a bit. :)

started this last night and I'm already super curious to see what's going on!!! a whole day of uninterrupted reading, I will finish this today :)

The doc is hot!!! I'm not really understanding the demon stuff yet, but it is still early :)

This book feels slower for some reason, I'm having a hard time not wanting to break and come back later.

listened to Zombies by The Cranberries since it was recommended (and it fits in more than one way)...now I am stuck listening to 90s hit music on the satellite while reading. Love 90s music!

Took me a while to get to this book due to the emotional turmoil the first book put me through. Though, as is my nature, I have read some spoilers....can't help it!!...and some of them leave me with a disappointed feeling. Hopefully the book itself gives me reason to not be disappointed by those few things.

Page 8 specifically states that the narrator isn't there yet, so you should know from there that this is a retelling or retrospective and be aware of that narration style.

Okay, already she believes that she is plain (even tho it's said that she has amazing eyes like that of no other) and she is saying that maybe she should've given in to a guy forcing her to have sex with him so that maybe he wouldn't have died???? WTF?? I like the story I suppose, but some things are too cliche and the MC needs to be stronger emotionally for me to like her.

It's like a history lesson with some action thrown in. Very, Dan Brown like...

omg! I love this book!

There are things I like about this book, but it's 100% freaky, creepy and weird that she calls Marcus son.

Not as irritated now, but I can't believe it is still going, it seems like there have been plenty of stopping points for only the first book in a series.

Seriously! WTF did she do that for? And what is it with authors having that happen? This book is slightly irritating.

Uhm, why is it necessary for people to keep major secrets from the ones they care about? This is a long book.
