I’m really enjoying this so far. 8 chapters in and it’s felt refreshingly different for the genre. Excited to see how the story progresses.

Going into this completely blind for a buddy read and I’m already confused by the first 2 chapters. But the vibes are cool thus far.

Will I ever not enjoy reading Hades and Persephone retellings? The world may never know. 😆

I’ve been intrigued by this series for so long. Excited to finally get into it. It’s been so long since I read a graphic novel/comic.

This feels like miscommunication trope on steroids at this rate but, I can’t say I’m mad at it. It’s kept my attention more than the first book did thus far. And that kiss?! Mmmhmmmm

I usually really enjoy Cara Bastone's stories, especially these full-cast ones on audio. But this might be the first middle-of-the-road book of hers for me because of all of these random musical interludes from the main character. It's really taking me out, but I'm sure it's because I'm biased and have yet to like a book with a musician as the main character.

This series feels like a cozy hug. Dex and Mosscap are the cutest!

Not only has the dialogue and relationship between the characters hooked me, but I'm also constantly at the brink of tears from Lenny's grief through this so far. The audiobook narrator has been amazing.

I’ve had a harder time getting into this book compared to the other two I’ve read by Isabel Cañas, but I’m still in love with the writing style. I think it’s because I also started listening to the audiobook, and I don’t really like the female narrator. I hope reading it physically will make a difference.

I almost put this down in the first 15% because it felt a bit slow, but I'm glad I've stuck it out. It's definitely piqued my interest now. I've really liked the tension between Rune and Gideon.

I don't normally read this kind of genre, but I'm not hating it.

The banter is pretty top tier.

There's something about Abby Jimenez's books that always brings me joy. She has a way of hooking me to her characters from the jump.

I will say, however, the 3 or 4 mentions of Rhysand that early on gave me pause. I never care for those kinds of additions to a book. I hope it's just a small blip and it doesn't happen again.

I was in the mood to start another audiobook on my long drive today and came across this.

I think the one thing that’s stuck out to me the most is the names, for people and world building. Some of these names sound like mushed together letters and it’s been kind of hard to follow.

But the banter has been enjoyable so far.
