I misread a sentence: "I've sat in bed sucking down the early cup of tea and watched Jeeves flirting* about the room"

*of course, the word was "flitting"

That would make this story a quite different one, can't say I wouldn't enjoy it though :D

I must say that even though I haven't finished the TV series (Jeeves and Wooster) based on the books, I can't help myself but picture Stephen Fry as Jeeves and Hugh Laurie as Bertie. The first story (how Jeeves and Bertie met) was cute and made me want to read more (how lucky the book has more than just one short story then :P)

I've had to look up a word or two so far, I had no idea how much a quart is, for example.

I bought this edition last year, planning to read the novel in English for the first time... Frankly, it's exciting almost as much as my first read.

Kuromaru is on page 160 of 503 of The Casual Vacancy

so far so good. I feel like Rowling's skill has been improving so much through the years of writing Harry Potter, that I really can see her skills in this one. It is a different book from HP, but it's still a similar narrating in its own way. You still can hear her voice in it.
