The copy I'm reading, that I checked out from the library, is missing pages 31-32. It does not look like the page was taken out of the book.
From the bottom of page 30 the story goes from Maria indicating "I remembered that I had found in the music room two mahogany violin cases."
to (the top of page 33) "We went over to the north side of the house. There stood a group of trees, evergreens..."
