So far it's The Wire, the book, but we're in DC and everyone's an even worse person. The way all these deadbeat men hanging in shitty daytime bars are depicted as casually racist and misogynist is actually kind of feminist. Crime fiction, baby. Pretty good so far!

66% read and if this isn't the Sandilanche part yet I don't even know man

This one is not as solid to me as words of radiance so far. Withholding judgement but this book starts and lot of stuff just starts happening really easily like the thing with the stormfather and also the squires. Simultaneously really enjoying it and also struggling to keep track of everything

I'm really really enjoying it but doesn't this book have to end in like 100 pages I don't see how there's gonna be time for everything to happen

So far pretty good. I like the choice to not go first-person when it's clearly not Jim Lovell himself doing any of the writing. I expected a lot more hyperbole like I've seen in other books on the apollo era but much like the movie this book is (purportedly) based on, it's enough to mainly depict the events themselves as they happened, with the transcripts to back it up. A very enjoyable lunch-break book.

Just finished all systems red. In the last thirty or so pages it graduated from being my lunch break book which stays at work to a take-home to read-under-a- light book which is a pretty huge leap in status if you know me.

I'm ready to read several thousands more words of mb being over-stimulated by social situations and just wanting to watch their shows

Today a coworker was dissing another coworker to me, saying something to the effect of "imagine if he couldn't have his phone on him for one day" I blacked out and before I know what's happening I'm describing the entire plot of this book so far to him

Jason pargin gets to skip the queue. Sorry Chris Paolini, sorry Cixin Liu, sorry expanse reread of book 7 of 9 (Jeri Ryan jumping the queue to my brain for a moment there) you're all gonna have to patiently wait

Also I've barely started and I can already visualise the movie of this book. If it was written with that possibility in mind, even better

I'm not that far into it yet but I'm sold, this is my kind of book. Comparisons with the expanse series will be inevitable but this is its own thing. Some of the dialogue near the beginning felt a bit cliche and threw me off, but by the time the horror sequence hit, I'd bought into these characters and this world. Got high level world-building that doesn't feel forced and the first thing you see is a 3D star map.

Zoey does this ironic bullying of her staff that is kind of still bullying. Like a defense mechanism when feels the stress of responsibility. Not sure if they all think it's as funny as she does.
