Not sure what I was expecting, but this wasn't it. That is not a bad thing, in fact quite the opposite. Almost half way in and I already know that this book is one that will keep me pondering long after it's finished.

This has been given some really good reviews, but I have to say it's kinda boring me so far. Gonna stick with it a bit longer in the hope that the story is about to kick off properly.

Thought I'd give the audio version a go this time. I'd abandoned this one a few years ago as it it wasn't holding my attention. The audio book is 22+ hours long. I have listened to 17+ hours so far and I'm still waiting for something to happen. A lot of characters have been introduced and are moving around, seemingly positioning themselves for a war that may not even happen in this book at this rate. Frustrating.
