Beautiful

This book is really weird. I am both intrigued and very worried. There are many, many themes in this book that *should* call to me but the characters so far are taking one step forward two steps back in their dysfunctional homemaking.

The writing has some brilliant phrasings and insight, and very fleshed out unreliable PoV characters. It also has an overabundance of clunky dialogue tags and breastmilk scenes.

I somehow didn't expect the old protagonist to be so foul-mouthed, but in retrospect I should have. XD

Note to self: am on page 360/1303, borrowed from Overdrive and due today. Ended between two tales, right at seventeeth. I suspect this old man is one lying liar telling us a story within a story within a story.

The frequent PoV changes are making it very hard for me to follow. /o\

Great audiobook! It livens up parts that my step-girlfriend had found too technical, but on the flipside there's a lot of "see more about this in chapter 4, 7 and 15" that's less easy to flip to when listening. Nevertheless I'm enjoyjng this greatly so far.

Very disapointing so far. ): I can't connect to the characters, their plight or the plot, the author's gift with dialogue is absent, and honestly I can't find the energy to pick it up.

Absolutely lovely art. I love the variety of people shown and want to know more about each of them.

Some stories are great and several are terrible. Some show beautiful remixing styles and some feel like unedited school assignments. Some are light hearted and some are garish horror.

This anthology is very frustrating and has been badly chosen. I don't have the will to try yet another story and face the russian roulette.

Lovely so far. Lots of languages nerdery, PoC, trans and queer characters, gender roles were thrown out the window, Hurt/Comfort, and strong competancy kink.
