Stomach turning. Pretty gross on the horror side, but I think all the SA-talk is going to make me DNF this one. I’ve read a lot of horror AND a lot about the Black Death; this one is not for me.

Not feeling this one. Despite being based on a real person and real events, all characters feel like cardboard cutouts. I dont think I want to spend any more time with the main character.

Just about halfway and I think I’m going to skip to the author’s notes at the end. I dislike the main character and that’s never a good sign, but every other character is a range from cardboard cutout to aggressively stupid. A shame, because the premise is interesting.

I don’t rate books but I’m tempted to one-star this one just to give some kind of balance to the ratings. Five stars? Really?

Sometimes hilarious but sometimes really not. I skipped chapter 14 :(
