This is such a fun book, I love Yue’s perspective

This is such a fun and unique story so far! A demon hunter and a human-eating nine-tailed fox demon are bound together and trying to escape Hell, where their only hope of getting out it seems is asking permission of star gods. I’m hooked! I love that it goes back and forth between the perspective of Yue (the demon) and Sonam (the demon hunter). They’re totally going to be bffs by the end, I’m calling it now

This one isn’t hitting like the rest of the series

I’m skipping any pages that have to do with Barbara or Frances. I’m skipping pages of dialogue about milkshakes and sandwiches. Wtf is this book? It could be cut down by 50%, just keep everything happening in 1984 and it could be an okay book. The rest is just really, really awful.

This isn’t the story I was hoping for. I wanted to read about female astronauts and the first space shuttle missions, instead I’m getting a love story with some space themes 🥱 The whole thing is everyday conversations, I feel like I’m just reading someone’s random Tuesday.

I feel like this might be another book club miss for me

There are at least a dozen characters introduced in the first 60 pages. Why do I keep picking up books like this? 😵‍💫

I forget Lauren has pain sharing until she mentions it explicitly - I think the journal entries do an incredible job of describing the events of what's happening along her journey, but it feels l like her hyperempathy syndrome is so non-present that it could almost be completely removed with zero impact

If a company buys out a town and offers safety and food and shelter, it feels like slavery.. but how is that really any different than working anywhere else, being uncertain of your ability to afford food, housing, or healthcare? So, what is freedom? Are we too far gone to ever know?

Ohhhhh beeeeeetch, I have been fully pulled in

I had stopped reading like one chapter before things started actually getting interesting. This won’t be a DNF!

I think I need to switch to a written format for this one, I can’t handle the audiobook anymore. The narrator is brilliant at all of the other voices, but something about the French accent is grating on me

I am much more interested in how Glass is dealing with his injuries and being abandoned than I am about any of the history of why or how he became a trapper. I think the background context seems really random and introduces way too many people to keep track of… I’m definitely finding myself skimming through those parts
