I am enjoying this BUT I cannot get over the anachronisms in pt 2. It takes place in 2000 yet there’s mentions of a 7 & 9 year old getting phones for Christmas, and a comment regarding the high volume of school shootings in America. One mistake I might have been able to excuse, but two is surprising.

Art should disturb the comforted and comfort the disturbed or whatever… then I guess I’m pretty comforted cause this is disturbing as hell. We’ll see if I can finish it.

I know it’s a YA book, but my main beef so far is that the protagonist is 18 and her soulmate is… at least several years older, probably closer to a decade older. Would love if Io was in her early 20s at least.

Look, I’m not saying I want to be a cannibal - and for certain I’m not a killer - but sometimes it does pique my curiosity. What does human taste like? According to Dorothy, it’s like eating a unicorn. It’s infinite immortalization and it makes a god out of a woman.

Unfortunately I’m getting annoyed by Nella’s lack of caution and the fact that one of her bottles showed up unbroken and unworn for Caroline over 200 years later. Make it make sense!

Am I crazy for liking teen Ben more than adult Libby? No one here is likable!
