In chapter 7 and already the funniest line is “I had fought my feelings for him for so long that giving them space to breathe now felt a little frightening…” like what 5 days?? 10 days??? It was JUST. SO. LONG. Torture. Endless yearning. Waiting a whole 55% into book 1 of a 3 book series for them to get together was just TOO SLOOOWWW😂😂😂😂😂😂😂

I’m in chapter 2 and I’m already so confused. Is kingfisher allowed to use magic or not in the vampire kingdom? How did he open a gate in the last book, but can’t in this one? What is happening?
