It was a present when on holiday in Lisbon. Never heard of the author although well respected in Portugal. It is hard to describe what this book is.
Not fiction, not fact, not a diary? But I am gripped
by the collection of notes over many years, a stream of consciousness of a strange inner-life. I have noted so many phrases as insights into human nature.

You never really ‘finish a poetry book”. Here are a set of poem from the Poet Laureate on his home turf in Yorkshire. Bring back memories for me. It also introduced me to two other Yorkshire poets.
Nineteenth century dialect poet Samuel Laycock born in Marsden like Armitage and Harold Massingham. I am sure this diversion wander out over the poetic moors will bring me back to home and Magnetic Field again.
