Kira is wholly unlikable so far. She reacts uninterestingly or stupidly to situations that I feel merit interesting reactions—if she reacts at all. Her character has no weight. I feel like if she was a man she’d be written differently, which is unfair and stupid.

Listen, I’ve barely started this book but it’s seems that the main character believes that she can woo the shadow king in some of the ugliest goddamned outfits I’ve ever had the displeasure of being described to me. So, she wears pants—not bad in and of itself—but over the pants? A skirt with a large split in the middle. “I hope I’ll start some new trends at court” she says. I hope she doesn’t!

Bo sucks. Mitch is better. The fact that Bo is the endgame is the worst.

girl I’m not even finished this book and I mean it’s pretty good but the main character is just annoying. She’s like, “I’m mean and I should stop being mean so I can make friends but I don’t want to.” Girl 🙄 listen I was the exact same way in 6th grade and listening to this chick go on and on about how mean she is just annoying
