Didnt like it one bit. Scanned through the pages as I really couldn’t care less about the characters.

39 steps by John Buchan. Was entertaining, not really memorable.

The coin of Dionysius by Bramah was interesting and nice to read!

The anthropologist at Large by Freeman was only unique because it included pictures of- but the language and descriptions of different races is really showing its age and outdated.

The Blue Cross by Chesterton was quite a fun and short read!

Well, Holmes and Watson are always great but this story..interesting animal.

Apologies to Dorothy Sayers story but wow I couldn’t care any less about it.

Hastings…what the hell man.

First story: The Murders in the Rue Morgue

I didn’t expect the gruesome details. And well, the resolution was quite unexpected.

I should have stopped reading at page 462 and just act like that’s the ending, because it sounded so nice. This book. Why.

Graces POV throws me off - it feels more like the author is consciously crafting her voice, and I’m hyper-aware that I’m reading something written rather than experiencing the character. Not sure why because Maddy’s POV chapters are super smooth to read for now.

Almost broke it off after chapter one because of that. Fingers crossed it gets better.
