The story is all over the place and I’m like really confused…

All this focus on politics is boring me to death. it’s legit giving me a reading slump.

DNF at 50%—definitely overhyped and incredibly boring. I couldn’t bring myself to care about anything that was happening. I had to drop it because it was putting me into a reading slump.

I’m 200 pages in&I still don’t feel connected 2 the story whatsoever it feels like I started the series from the middle w all of these action scenes from the v start! I barely know Violet,so why should I give a shit if she lives or dies? Like, what’s her story?Who is she? I need to actually care about the main character to get emotionally invested otherwise,it just feels like I’m reading to get to the end.

The writing is mid and the author is trying so hard to sound like a teenager 🙄

So far, Nothing special.

DNF after 300 pages. Too boring, dragged out& in desperate need of editing. it felt like the book was begging for it. The author clearly wanted to be Stephen King, but it came off as a cheap version of IT. Total waste of time. I also read somewhere that halfway through, the story turns into a religious horror mess that doesn't make sense, so thank God I stopped reading.

The concept is unique just the delivery was so unrealistic the characters were all flat & had zero emotional depth. I couldn’t bring myself to care abt any of them. The dialogue was super cringy, & even though there were 10 characters, they all felt the same—no one stood out. I gave up around 80% bc the twists kept getting worse & just way too ridiculous. Total waste of time. the worst book I’ve read this year.

The initial 200 pages lacked excitement, with a focus on the mundane dynamics of a housekeeper and her employer, and their basic silly conflicts. Nothing was creepy or scary about it. There were No twists or creepy/scary things whatsoever! I'm taking a brief pause before diving into the second part, hoping it will deliver the anticipated thrill. And live up the hype! 🙄😴
