The story is very good, but I’m still finding the prose a bit stilted.

This is fine so far, but not what I expected.

Powering through this when insomnia hits (which has been unfortunately rampant this past week)

I recently found this lost book under my nightstand. One chapter left now, but I may reread it later this year.

Such an interesting book. I’m learning a lot about the recent history surrounding the three main figures of this era of the Chiefs—Mahomes, Reid, and Veach. But the history of Kansas City is even better. I didn’t know “redlining” and racial covenants had their roots in Kansas City. I’m looking forward to hopefully reading a chapter on BBQ.

Goodreads needs a category for “main character works through complex trauma from their family while not letting it define them and without sounding like a TikTok ‘mental health advocate’”.

I would read every one.

I have finished the first chapter!

He’s been addressing a lot of in-house contemporary disagreements within the academy of his time. There’s a lot to gain from it, but it’s been hard to understand when the background is relatively foreign to me.

50/50 whether I finish this by the end of the year. Definitions are important but not necessarily exciting.
