On the one hand, I get how him refusing to let his son believe he was disabled meant he was always looking for ways to help him function “typically.”
On the other hand, as someone who had a profoundly disabled sibling, whose parents did everything in their power to help him, I’ve lived this. There’s no amount of “just believe and look for solutions!” that makes the world all sunshine and rainbows.
