Thomas is a natural fuck boy! I would have found the closet wine glass or bottle and hit him right across the head. I fucking dare you tell me news that you lied about your job, cheating on me, tell me I'm fat and let myself go, and you got another bitch pregnant. GTFOMF! This book got me heated within only a few chapters!

I wonder why families are so caught up on secrets staying hidden. They cause nothing but trouble.

One of the funniest scenes is Amber and baby Olive saying "Mama" to Millie twice, at the beginning and near the end.

Okay, she told Sebastian the truth. I'm shocked. I wonder what Death will do to punish her because of that.

I knew it. I mentioned this in the first couple of pages. If you are a reader of literature and know earlier works, then you know plots. She has her inspiration from Christopher Marlowe but with a Black, Southern and contemporary spin on it. I love it!

It reminds me of Christopher Marlow’s Doctor Faustus plot with the devil, but it's Death instead. That hooked me instantly and it's a southern Black woman that he's talking to and giving a chance at a longer life.

The last two days these characters have taken me on a rollercoaster. I hate Devonte. He is a capital L, LOSER! He needs to get TF out of the girls' suite. And, Vanessa, is definitely in on it for sure!

Well, shit, that escalated quick. Thomas, Tom, Dick,....whatever or whomever you are. What is you doing to these women and why? Whose baby is this? Why can't Lucky remember everything? Was she drugged before or during because she recognized Micah/Lyric? I'm gon have to look back at these pages to make sense of all this, but it's a good story thus far.

Oh, wow, so the daddy is just playing God and making monsters because of his sorrow and grief. I don't agree with this, but I do understand the selfish need to not to want to get rid of a loved one. I think this reanimation gift is more of a curse instead.
