Much better than book one. Like I wish I had started with this one.

I love this heady, esoteric shit. Still too angsty to be cozy just yet, but it’s a thinker already.

I don’t love the narrator on this one. Trying different speeds to see if that helps. Haven’t decided if it’s a deal breaker or not.

This is not as dark as I thought it would be. But things are happening that are making me uncomfy. Next month’s book club pick with be FLUFFY.

Halfway in and nobody has fucked yet. Can’t tell me there ain’t some depth in this series.

Crazy how they talk about this young lady that “can’t bear children.” Like very crazy. Its Ancient Rome so reproductive health knowledge wasn’t widespread. But I’d bet my bottom dollar it’s her ex-husband’s fault she didn’t conceive and she’ll be pregnant by this happily ever after.

This one started slow for me. It’s in third person, but still dual pov?? Which is fine. But the moment they both realized that their friendship may be more??? Tapped all in. Let’s ride this out.

Ugh it’s getting to the point where the tension is building and the truth has to come to the light so we are getting to the inevitable split before the HEA. This is always my least fave part. BUT still so, soooo hot.
