I have to say I appreciate that Violet never dances around the point. Never thought I’d see an emotionally intelligent character in a popular romantasy, but here we are.

I don’t know what it is that isn’t connecting me to this book or any character but every time I pick it up I want to put it right back down.

There are yeses and there are nos. I’m enjoying the witchy part. I want to know more about magic and how the potions are made, I loved the details of how he got the dragons blood. And I want one of those grimoires for myself! But do I actually like the characters? I don’t know yet. And I feel like 300+ pages in, I should know.
