April-lyn is on page 98 of 288 of The Enneagram of Belonging: A Compassionate Journey of Self-Acceptance
Just learned about Christopher's history of manipulative psychological and spiritual abuse involving women and read the account from one of these women. Now I'm debating whether I should finish his book or not. I likely will, but if so I will be reading the rest of it with that information in the back of my mind as a filter.

Nearly done with this book and beyond the first chapter, the twin sisters who were central to the book's premise haven't done anything substantial other than be McGuffins. How disappointing. I'll say more in my full review when I finish it tonight.

We're currently reviewing lessons 7 and 8 before moving on to lesson 15. It's always amazing how easy things seem when we go back to lessons we studied months ago!

This is such an absurd premise and I love it. I'm still waiting to figure out if there's a point, and I'm beginning to suspect that either a) there is one but I'm not quite clever enough to get it or b) there isn't one and it's just an absurd spoof of the Metamorphosis and something-something existentialism. But I'm thoroughly enjoying the ride.

I still want to know why [REDACTED] and what [REDACTED]! I also never thought [REDACTED] would be my favorite Lynch brother and I'm upset with Maggie for not including us in [REDACTED]. I guess the point is [REDACTED] and it makes for way better writing, but I'm like Ronan and I just want what I want regardless.

I was on board with this book until he started talking about the "ho period." I understand what he MEANT with this, but the terminology he chose is rooted in misogyny and, frankly, just sounds juvenile. I'm a grown nearly-40-year-old woman. Give me a break.

A bit hard to read this book about a devastating global pandemic in the midst of a real-life devastating global pandemic, but also fascinating and educational. It certainly gives perspective on both a) how fortunate we are that it's not worse than it has been and b) how easy it would be for an even worse pandemic to sweep the world.

I'm having a hard time staying motivated, but it's starting to get good, so I'm hopeful that the second half of the book will hook me in the way the way that it seemed like it would at first. It's not you, book--it's me. Pandemic life is killing my ability to focus.

So far I'm having trouble staying motivated to read this, mainly because I find Holly to be nearly intolerable as a character. I hope that the fantastic element of the story picks up soon and that she stops being such a ninny, because I want to start off 2020 strong without abandoning as many books partway through.

I'm fascinated by this book so far, both by the amount of research she must have done to write it, and by what she envisions it must have looked like for young Jesus to be both fully God and fully man. If she even believes that - so far his divinity seems more magical than holy. But I'm also getting bored by the story. Hope it picks up soon.

Going through this with the accompanying journal I got cheap at Bart's Books. It's a bit Christianity 101 but sometimes it's good to get back to basics to reorient yourself.
