All the things I was very irritated with, with this book, turned around. The annoying romance in the first chapters, Emily's straight up DISREGARD for how important her position is-- well she is definitely paying for it. Even so, I can't tell if her mind was magically manipulated or not. If it wasn't, I still DEFINITELY dislike this direction her character decided to go. I'm gonna keep going!

So far, you can tell this is probably from a new writer, but that's not to say its necessarily bad. Some choices at the very beginning were a bit jarring- you feel as if the book is going one way- and it shoots off another direction almost TOO quickly, before you really understand the characters well. This isn't to say the book is bad, just perhaps a bit unpolished. I'm gonna keep reading!
