i've always been thinking what keeps me from reading this consistently—and this might be a very UNPOPULAR opinion—but i honestly think that violet sorrengail is a nepo baby (for some reason, this distrubs me). still, i'm gonna push through reading this bit by bit

interesting na it's all written from a burgis perspective. i still dont know what to feel about it...

imagine being an Filipino who migrated 20+ years prior the martial law. then you come back to the philippines just 2 mos after aquino died. i mean, im still on my first 30 pages, but i am already liking the magnificently-done of interweaving our filipino history and our political struggles right along as caridad finds herself.
