So far, the two stories I’ve read have followed male leads at varying degrees of insufferable. Some exceptional character work, and I love the writing, but I was gritting my teeth so hard during “Acknowledgements” that it hurt to open my mouth again. For my health, I think I’ll have to pause on this one.
