This book was super uneven for me. Some of the vignettes were intriguing but I really lost the thread of what the author was trying to say, and by the end just wanted to be done. I think this was an over ambitious undertaking to say something profound about humans as travelers that didn’t end up saying much.

I keep sobbing in public places while reading this. I can’t believe I have 600 more pages.
