Still enjoying the ride on Douglas Adams’ crazy train. This one has more structure than the first two but maybe not as much zaniness.

In the reviews someone said that “The Likeness” by Tana French was just a rewrite of “The Secret History”. I read that review and was interested in what “The Secret History” was all about? Turns out it is considered to be a modern classic. Somehow I missed that. Now I had to read it, because The Likeness had interesting characters, but a plot absent of credibility. Let the reading begin…

Fun book, especially for a reader like me that leans conservative. Life is no fun if you can’t poke fun at yourself. Hiaasen remains one of my favorites. There are a couple of characters here that I wouldn’t mind seeing returning to future books. Reinventing Skink isn’t easy; I like this guy.

Confession. I expected this one to be bad. I’m only trying to finish the series because I started it and I bought all the books already. It wasn’t horrible. I mean, the entire novelette is character building. The characters are somewhat interesting and Maas could bail out the series with a strong book to finish it. That’s what she does right? Right?
