Holy crap! This book was a departure from what I usually read, and I’m not entirely sure it was a great choice in this particular timeline in the US…

But I loved it. It broke my heart. It showed the power of love and hope and community. It also showed so much of the reality of how broken humanity can be.

It was absolutely devastating.

I grabbed this book thinking it looked like a fun, quick read. It was a fun read, but as someone with ADHD, this book also mirrored so much of my own lived experiences that it felt surprisingly poignant. I absolutely loved the story and the way so much of it is told from Lizzie’s perspective, completely aware of her own challenges and how she moves through the world.
