Having only seen the movie before reading this edition of the book I can see the vast difference in what happens in the movie compared to the book, or books. Since this is typical of most movie or TV adaptations of books I'm glad to finally be reading the books. I'll be interested to see how the rest turn out based on other reviews.

Every time I pickup this book and read a bit more I discover more golden nuggets, challenges and inspiration, that encourage me to fight for my marriage and pursue a better life for my wife and I.

I appreciate how John and Staci share the hardest parts of their marriage and help us to see clearly that we are not alone. At the same time they give us hope through truth.

It's challenging starting out, the "desire" seems mystical and out of reach.

This book was hard to read and get into at the begin since I'm many years into my marriage. However, if you can get yourself to chapter 5 it definitely gets better and more applicable. The later chapters provide excellent reminders, challenges, and hope for any marriage.

If you want to take your faith to the next level start focusing on prayer. I love the challenge to forget about our generic and vague prayers as they don't give God any glory.

I'm enjoying the one-on-one time with my wife exploring how we can better show love to each other, and just grow together spiritually.
