Warming to the character. Too many strangers refer to each other as dear when lass wld have been more appropriate

i started this ages ago hoping it would be well wriiten like A man called Ove but sadly fell very short for me. Not going to finish it as I find the story line is boring and too many trite details. Don't like any of the characters much as they are wooden and predictable. having said that a lot of people will love it

See mt Amazon review. This book was a huge disappointment starting well and finishing with wooden characters and stilted dialogue. spoiler Alert. A girl is murdered followed by her mother. Then more bodies appear. the culprit is caught too easily and his accessory never explains why he hated his family so much. Uness it was a freebie I wouldnt bother with this author again

re-reading again. Was never one of my favourite favourites of Georgette Heyer but still loved her books

Despite tbe truth being stretched a bit far and knowing some tbings couhld never happen, it's a great read and lok forward to reading the rest if the series. characters are believable and interesting read from the perspective of a Norseman about the "skinny white God" compared to Odin
