I'm reading SEA-WITCH!!! I've been meaning to read this forever and I'm v excited about this.

I think I'm reading this in the most Magic Mountain way possible, so with an almost two year gap picking up from where I last stopped off...

Gray leans into the guy who should NOT be writing about women so well, he leans himself right through the other side.

Also, a LOT of sentences like this:

Man, sometimes I wish I could turn the old editing melon off. :/ I am enjoying this book, but can't lie, find the writing a little distracting. I get the sense that when given a choice, Mieville always reaches for the $500 dollar word. But sometimes, that sentence needs a $5 or $50 word. Caviar's cool, but sometimes your writing needs a cracker. You feel?

I'm dating like, four books atm, and I HATE IT!! I neeeeed to finish at least one of them, but this is a great book!!!

This author is so fkn shady and catty, I love it. I have a musical background (but not NEARLY to this degree), and the MOLUCULAR LEVEL MUSICAL shadiness MacDonald is capable of is unprecedented. Adds an entire level of enjoyment.

Have I mentioned that I'm reading like, five books at once atm, and I kind of hate it? But I can't seem to get out of the cycle. Anyway, really enjoying this so far.
