As a loyal reader it's enjoyable. The twisting of both present day with past is fun however the plot meanders all over and is rather disjointed. Again too much time is given to war preparations and non essential plot direction, the meat and potatoes as you were, that I want from the series now. Be done with lord john we just want Claire and Jamie.
