I am surprised at how incredibly interesting this is!

So many good stories in this I doubt I could pick a favorite among them. These are from the award-winning editor, Ellen Datlow, who was also behind the anthology The Green Man whose tales are excellent, too. I've read many of these from Datlow and can't think of any that I didn't throughly enjoy and I hope you do as well.

I'm on page 121, the beginning of Chapter 11, and this book is GREAT! It's also something I'd have never expected from Koontz - humorous, which, to my surprise he's pretty good at, so weird. I feel like Benny right now. Have I stumbled into a parallel dimension? Can I have a Spike, too?

Eh, it's not my cup of tea anymore. I used to love silly fantasies like this that feature plucky heroines who are awaiting their hero, but I'm struggling to get through this, to be honest.

I'm almost halfway through The Maid, and am becoming quite the fan of Molly. It's obvious she's on the autism spectrum though very high-functioniñgg, she has difficulty with interpreting social cues. This is typically a sign of Asperger's Syndrome, which is the most common form of autism. To be completed...

RI am halfway through the second book and bored. So, I set it aside a few weeks ago (oops) and have been reading other stuff.

I'm listening to this on Audible and though I'm not very far in I think I see what makes TJR so popular 1. She's not afraid to make her characters do bad things for bad reasons and 2. She creates a believable world with unbelievable characters, imho. Yes, so far I'm on the fence with this book, hoping it'll get better soon. The thing I hate most? The narrator's voice and how she does each character, it's so annoying!

There are so many good stories in this anthology! I'm used to only liking two, maybe three stories in an anthology, but this collection is one of the best I've read in quite awhile and I was disappointed when it ended,

So far it's been a interesting read, the world that she's created has creatures straight out of nightmares and that even includes the good guys!
