You’d think a four hour flight would get you through most books. Yeah, no, that barely made a dent in this one.
Also, drug use in this one, apparently. Whoopee!

Do things for the sake of doing them

Cruise is so racist lol. I’m vibing with Friday, though.
“Day 3 of my exile. The old loony albino I met (his name is master) no longer seems interested in eating me. He’s been going on about bird people in the sky. Makes zero sense, but he seems to have survived on this island quite a while, so I’m humoring him for now. When I grow up I want to be a baker.”

Attainable, easy to connect with and to, still waiting for the benefits

Upon meeting a fellow with wealth, influence, and unshakeable character with a small pool of heirs, one of which is his only daughter who’s being rebellious about her romantic interests, and the former fellow is obstructing the less-than-holy political machinations of another fellow with power and less upstanding character, I would feel obliged to inform him that he’s about to be murdered. Probably by the butler.

I’ve learned a lot about narrative devices specific to comic art, as well as the relationship of the reader to abstract icons.

Liking the characters so far... want to see them in action a bit more, but I do delight in seeing the villain of this story develop his devious plot!

The threads are starting to come together- but some of them are still long, dreamlike, and dangling. (Wait, I’m only HOW FAR through?!)

I’m intrigued. Eager to start really getting into this world, and presumably an epic plot.

I’ve fallen in love with Bradbury all over again! I’ve been inspired to pull my typewriter out of storage and prepare it for use.
