1/3 in and this is already better than the whole of Every Summer After.

Is it just me or does everything goes gradually downhill ever since the protagonist got to the 'Faeryland'?

This is way better than I thought? It still has the cheese and cliche of a typical teen romance, and I'm not actually against cheese and cliche. They can be fun, and I'm enjoying this book so far. I really like Grace as the protag too.

'The male'. 'The female'. What is this language? I know they're Fae but... 'the male' and 'the female', really? It'd be better if the writing just mentioned their names. Or 'man' and 'woman'?

'"I don't do dresses. I wear shirts. Pants."' How familiar. This argument was not only unnecessary but adds nothing other than 'I'm not like other girls' vibe even though it's reasonable for Saeris.

There are way too many doors with their pneumatic hisses all throughout the book.

Every time I read Jameson's POV/story I almost fell asleep. Also: love triangle? Again?? My innocent thought thinks love triangle is a thing from the golden YA era. It was generally poorly written and nobody really likes them anyway. I haven't read a lot of adult Romantasy but I do hope other popular Romantasy doesn't have it, because boy am I sick of the trope from reading so many YAs in my life.

Maybe I'm getting old, but I just can't take this book seriously. It's just that a lot of things feel so silly, cheesy, and cliched. But I do get the 4.3 average rating on Goodreads, because this book is entertaining.

I quite liked it so far but this story has been middling in every aspect. Characters were mid. Plot was close to non-existent. Banters / interactions between the main leads were average. Just two people liking each other in mediocre ways.

Reading Vampire Academy is like watching Teen Drama on TV. It's just a good time.

It warms my heart to see a good friendship in a horror novel.

I may have found another masterpiece.

Theo Silva is a walking, talking, breathing dream of a man. Too bad he's fictional. Ugh.

I loved Theo so much, and did this book really just make me tear up for him this early?

My most anticipated couple let's go!! Theo Silva, I've had my eyes on you for three books. Please, please deliver!

Does Elsie Silver have anything against women in their thirties because even her childhood friends to lovers trope still features age gap, haha. When you're kids, even 1 or 2 years difference can change your dynamic. Jasper and Sloane have 6 years age gap, but they behaved like they were much closer in age in flashbacks. It's like she had to keep her FMCs below 30 no matter what.

From the two previous books, Jasper hasn't stood out to me at all and Sloane was just introduced, so I have no expectation.

I am excited. I'd always wanted to try one of Naoki Urasawa's 'three masterpieces', but I hadn't gotten around to read it until now.

The slow burn is slow... but I love it. It fits their personalities really well.

I can't get enough of Ghost's interactions with Tobias. I wish it happens more often.

Aahh I love these two already.

I'm glad these characters are introduced in side stories after the main plot was finished.

At first, this looked like a normal, contemporary slow-burn romance with a touch of mental health issues. I was having a good time seeing the MCs just interact until crazy things started to happen. Suddenly it's... sci-fi? Thriller? What? Now I have no clue where the series is going, but the unpredictability actually makes this exciting!

I was, or maybe still am, a SAO hater. At least I hate the anime. So why am I reading this? It's complicated, but let's just say that this massively popular franchise still intrigues me and I'm hoping the original light novels do some things better than the anime adaptation. So far, I'm feeling good about this one.

I know the title and cover isn’t convincing at all but this came recommended and I was happy at how good and well-written this is. The hate, the indifference, the tension. Ugh. My heart hurts and my stomach clenches for Jem. I love it.

Currently on Vol. 7: Asuka’s an adorable cinnamon roll and the stories are funny and wholesome!
