The sense of urgency while a man who has saved your ass time and time again is fighting half a dozen men for his life is non existent. The author keeps reminding us with the FMC thinking “if his time doesn’t run out” type thoughts and yet she seems to have time to slowly bring her friends back and not ask ANY of them to go help him.

Maybe you were judging her actions too hasrshly! Are you fucking kidding me

Well this part just pissed me off

This stop and chat with the villain is ridiculous

Ok this book is cute. The award banter between the 2 and now speed walk chasing an old librarian. It has me grinning from ear to ear

Why does it feel like I’ve been dumped into a plot that I missed. I checked the reading order before picking this series up and never once does it say there’s a book to read between book 2 and 3 and yet I feel like a whole book happened in between and I’m in the dark

I didn’t love stone in book 1 and our first interaction in this book certain doesn’t help my perception of him. He’s kind of a selfish prick. “You’re dating a creature”-and then to blame Jinx for dating someone cause they “had something”. Apparently it wasn’t important enough to contact her over the last few months but sure it was “special”

Ok- the author redeemed that stupidity.

Oh but how could I forget. She’s not alone. No she’s with a ghost, who can’t help. But yay go her she’s not alone *insert eye roll*

Really. You’re in the bayou where the sheriff says it’s easy to get lost and these 2 agents didn’t even notice a trail until he “vanished” into it- AND YOUR GOING TO SEPARATE. This is like one of those cheesy horror films where your yelling at the dumbasses to stick together because there’s a killer on the loose

This story is so far fetched with this “master”. Your telling me this guy flies to a new country and within a day finds an advent follower just sitting in the graveyard and recruits him? None of this is plausible and the paranormal aspect of talking to ghosts is practically non existent

I’m also kind of sick of hearing everyone, including this wack job, wax poetic about the beauty of Dela

Really they’ve known each other a few days and she’s his “special best friend”. These characters don’t know each other AT ALL. Like they never talk, they’re just running after a bad guy. There’s no chemistry, no banter, no anything between them

I’m nervous I’m only 38% into this book and I have no idea why it’s going to be that long.

How come half the town know Paul cheated and the other half seem oblivious even though according to the FMC gossip is spread fast. Plus those that know he cheated, even her own mother! Don’t seem to care. Ever side character is an absolute dick

What I don’t understand is if the queen can wipe memories or change memories why isn’t she using it on the king to manipulate him so he doesn’t fall in love with all these other women and have affairs?

Really she throws this huge hypothetical in the middle of a weird case and the boss doesn’t push it or wonder if the 2 are connected

This woman is a coward

Did she not recognize the ransacking BEFORE she went upstairs and if it happened after- how there was no time

She’s way too cavalier about this. And you tell your best friend you’ve got this disease and your not allowed to tell anyone and instead of warning her to keep her mouth shut and have her come over so you can explain you insist she continues to her massage appt. AND SHE DOES. Who the hell acts like that here your world view has been shattered

Don’t love that. I mean she just met a guy who told her he’s an orphan and was hunting on his own when he was invited to the school. But sure you’re the only special one that’s had a hard life. I’m trying to have grace bc she’s 21 and this is probably a good representation of that age but uggg I hate that

I don’t like Nora. She colder breaks up with Derek, a fact she tells us and yet she’s begging him to be his agent when he’s clearly pissed off and hurt by her. It’s coming off so selfish. Like all that matters to her is this career. Who cares if she’s hurting him more a guy she says she’ll never get over.

Also how in the hell has the super natural world stayed hidden? She’s told at least 5 people about it just in the course of these books. Witnesses are constantly seeing demonic possessions and vampires. But we are supposed to believe this is all a secret still

It’s the constant quips like this ““Hang with the bull and you’ll eventually get the horns, my man.” That are probably going to stop me from reading more in this series

Now is not the time for me to read this book. My husband says he can feel the anxiety rolling of me while I’m reading and he’s right. I’m going to have to put this aside for another time
