day 10. the end of all things.

i know i’m going to fly through this but i’m reluctant to leave roshar :(

end of day 8. whew.

End of part 3. Talk to me in 400 pages.

I feel like most of the driving force in this book is going to be in character building and development. We’ve just had a major upheaval at the end of the last book, packed with action, so I feel like this will have much more mellow (relative) action, but really strong character stories. I’m really enjoying it so far, but seeing as how it is more character-driven, it’s easier to put down and not pick back up.

Really struggling with the caste system designed in this book. I don’t really love being reminded that the “parshmen” are just docile workers but they’re not really human, so it’s okay to use them as less than human… I find myself zoning out to just get through passages, to see what the author’s trying to accomplish. I’m going to keep pushing, but it’s difficult.

this is my third official attempt at reading this book. reading warbreaker first really made it easier to digest the first however many chapters and prologues of this book. we’ll see how long it sits on my “currently reading” shelf

my heart is already so heavy.

somehow. one way or another. i’m going to finish this book. have i enjoyed it so far? no. do i have much hope for the next half of the book? not really. but i’m stubborn and i’ll get it done.

i am in no rush to finish this book. it is so tender and perfect.

i have never been so ANGRY every. single. page. of a book.

i am flying through this and cannot finish this fast enough. but i also don’t want to be done with it because the next one doesn’t come out until 2025.

someone pick this book up. i can’t go through this alone.

please someone else read this. i can’t have my heart broken alone.
