So far this is such a perfect late summer/early autumn listen

Finally got this in physical book format and gosh is it a beautiful book and it’s got such a satisfying heft haha 😄

Sometimes I wonder how much listening to a book on audiobook as I fall asleep affects my liking of a book, because the way certain things have been revealed in the plot and the speed at which the main characters’ relationship is developing is slightly confusing to me. But is that the author’s fault, or my sleepy brain’s fault? 😂

This book may be the final push that gets me to read Julian of Norwich 👀

It really is sorta funny that the movie cuts out about half of the book 😅

I know there’s a lot of hypotheses about Tom Bombadil and what he’s doing in this book, and I don’t claim to know much about these, but what I CAN say is that the chapters on the Old Forest and Tom Bombadil remind me SO much of George MacDonald’s Phantastes! The description of the forest, the sinister trees, and even Bombadil and Goldberry’s safe haven between two dangerous places! So it feels oddly fitting

I want to finish this one by the end of the year, we’ll see how I fare 😂 with all the endnotes, I’m around halfway done
