I've enjoyed this series overall, but I think Allan may have had the best book in it right here until the ending. Still a damn good read, but I fear the results of taking a main character and making him the "forced foil" in the next book. We'll see...

Short and fun read,

Overall, a very good (if wordy) read. Mann takes a couple of plausible liberties, but for the most part this is a quality analysis of how much the world really did change post-Columbus. Tomatoes may seem to be a strange place to start this journey, but by the end you see how appropriate that choice really is.

Comprehensive as always. The Dolphins chapter seems particularly prescient.
