Hello bookish friends!! I've been kind of on/off on Goodreads because university and 2019 being the worst year I've lived so far but I've ambitious goals for 2020 and want to do a POC read year, where at least 80% of what I read is from POC authors. However, I don't want this to be a lonely quest so if you're interested in doing something similar, have some recommendations or just want to say hi, HIT ME UP!

Personal Priority 2019 Bookish Goals:

1. Read the Harry Potter series before I turn 20 i.e. before June 2019.

Life is weird. A little more than a week ago I couldn't have imagined living in the US as an international student and now I've already had my first class! I'm so happy and anxious and other mixed feelings. Hopefully, I'll be able to keep up reading for pleasure but for now like the pragmatic person I'm, I'm lowering my reading challenge! More power to anyone who can handle all that shiz together, HAPPY READING GUYS!

Florence is such a relatable character I'M DYING! Can't wait to see the movie with Ronan playing her...

I really liked the introduction but even though the first essay "Babes in the woods" was highly personal and emotional with some good insightful sentences it really didn't address the topic at hand which is quite disappointing...

The one thing I really love about this book is this exaggerated fluffy writing that the author is into like yas queen my mind functions the same way when it comes to romance haha

Really heartbreaking and captivating so far! I'm not experiencing any irritation with reading a book in free verse, it's even a pleasant change-over from the usual writing!

Love me some contemporary adult rom-com with LOADS of 90s movie suggestions <3

1. Past - read a historical fiction or classic – Heart of Darkness by Joseph Conrad.

2. Present - read a book published in 2017 or 2018 – The witch doesn't burn in this one by Amanda Lovelace or The Mermaid and Mrs Hancock by Imogen Hermes Gowar.

3. Future - read a dystopian or sci-fi – The loneliest girl in the universe by Lauren James.

"Is nobody allowed to play with me now?" HEARTBREAK!! I feel like crying for Ziggy rn

I know this seems to be a very controversial book with one star reviews all over it but so far the intriguing plot and diverse characters have definitely managed to pique my interest and hopefully I'm not going to be bashing this book by the end of it!

Almost halfway through and my verdict is that this is so NOT one of the better novels of Hoover! Here's hoping I'll have my opinion changed by the end of it.

Just started this, and really enjoying the author's stance and style of argument so far!

Not really in love with the writing but holy fuck that plot twist with the parent story!! I have no idea why I have started reading this though when I have 6+ half-finished books!!

Just started on my personal goal of reading the most famous novels of the Bronte sisters! This novel is one of my all-time favourites, looking forward to seeing if I have a different perspective this time, reading it after 7 years!!
