About the old Seattle landmark, the bone mars-jay? Ever been to Or-E-gone? Yeah, me neither. It’s a miracle the narrator of this book has pronounced Sequim and Puyallup correctly. Including Spokane, that rounds out the handful of regional place names he got right. But Oregon? Seriously?!

This author continually makes grand generalizations without supporting them with references. There is no bibliography in this book.

This would be lot faster and more fun if I wasn't worried about taking notes. Required reading for my "Gourmet Culture" class.

It's a good thing there are hundreds of characters, because I'm fairly certain this author intends to kill them ALL before the series is done.

"Most of the really interesting people are dead." This book is finally becoming readable. The first 50 pages were so simplistically Nancy Drew that it hurt. I knew it was fluff, I just didn't expect it to be such a slow painful read.

How could she not respond to that letter? She is a fool.
