This book is speedrunning the romance. They basically meet, exchange a few words, and are declaring everlasting love and having sex every night and acknowledging that although they know basically nothing about each other, it means nothing in the face of their love. Goodness.

So far, the leads have just been fighting the whole time. He's lied to her, hit her, forced kisses on her, called her slurs, basically told her "lol your wants and consent aren't important", and overall has had limited redeeming qualities. I am actively rooting for Tanya to escape at this point.

This is written in a pretty juvenile way; the language, the progression of the plot... it feels like a YA novel but I don't think it was advertised that way. I've read 300+ pages so far and very little has happened; I'm not really enjoying the read, but I'll try to finish.

Ah, there it is. All of a sudden they're having sex and thinking about love and there's limited foundation for it. It was really nice until this facet killed at potential for an emotional payoff for a cheap sex scene.

Information keeps getting repeated; this is like the 5th time in 50 pages that that the author's mentioned the MC inheriting a gift for prosthetic dreams from her mother.
