Gotta say I really appreciate a supernatural/horror/thriller novel where the main character does in fact tell everyone who gives a shit what's going on. I feel like a lesser book would have had her hiding it all from everyone and I'd be yelling the whole time.

ngl I'm feeling a tad conflicted reading a murder mystery about drag queens written by a cis woman, that centers a cis woman as the protagonist. However, so far, the writing is beautiful, and it seems to be written with a shitload of love and familiarity and (importantly) awareness of the main character's place as an outsider looking in. TBD on whether this all pays off but I'm liking it so far

LOL so I know the point of the passage is the "new covenant" means there's no need to keep kosher (impurity is in the soul not in what you consume or whatever) but my dude definitely went on a diatribe about how you don't need to wash your hands before you eat. Like no buddy the Jews had it right there, dont eat stuff that easily spoils because there's no freezers, kill your meat humanely, and wash your fucking hands
