“Wouldn’t being born again imply I didn’t trust God to have done it right the first time?”

The conceit of this story as an annotated journal seriously makes no sense.

One thing I certainly did not expect from a book based on fairy tales was discussion of the power requirements of a time machine.

“Was he actually getting too old to gloat?”

Finally at the halfway point, chapter-wise. I really need to set aside reading time instead of reading for like two minutes a week.

“It wasn’t natural, to be surrounded by so much goddamn corn.”

I did not expect this book to make me laugh as much as this chapter is.

Flappy Bird is “like a meteorite that crashed through a desert motel lobby, hot and small and unaware.”

“Having to choose between Collin Firth and Hugh Grant sounds like a far more challenging dilemma than anything I faced in Fallout 3!”

There are some really good pieces in here about the personal experiences around games, but it feels like the book was published as a direct response to Gamergate abuse.

Finished the main story, one of two. I think this is gonna be a five-star book for me.

The author has an occasional bad of talking around things before revealing what he was talking about. Like a character gets an idea in his head, investigates it, discusses it with other characters, and the reader is the last to know what the last few pages were about.

I really need to learn to read faster. And to devote more time to it.

I like it so far.

I’m so bad at reading in a timely fashion. I’m gonna have to check this out again.

This is just poorly written. I’m done.

“… she continued, …. She informed me, …. She reminded me, …. She prompted, ….” EVERY SENTENCE. IN ONE PARAGRAPH. I can’t take this guy's writing style anymore.

And then it starts to get interesting.

Chapter 9. No idea when the story starts, but so far it’s been a prologue and seven chapters of surveillance.

Three chapters down. I’ve never read this author before, but he’s got some strange choices of attribution.

“I don’t lose anyone. Well, I lost my wife once in Bloomingdale’s. I can’t figure out the logic of a woman’s shopping habits. They don’t think like us.”
