I’m starting to accept that I won’t like any character in this book… They are all very wronged and toxic toward each other. One thing I’m questioning is whether Heathcliff was originally a good guy. Kind maybe, but one who let others bully him. Over time, after hearing Catherine, the only person who seemed ‘kind’ to him, describe him in ways he couldn’t believe, he began seeking revenge on everyone.

I’m officially past what I would call the chaotic introduction to Heathcliff and his strange vibes. I’m now being introduced to young Catherine, Heathcliff and other characters who will clearly play a role in the development of both main characters. That said, I already know I will dislike Catherine. She comes across as very arrogant.

I’m already in love with the way it’s written.

I saw the movie a few years ago and absolutely loved it, it’s in my top 3 favourite movies of all time. So of course I have to read the book.

I am in shock. I was not expecting this turn of events. I even find it a bit creepy. Part of me wants to stop reading because I find what is happening quite disturbing, but at the same time I want to know how it ends. Otherwise, it will haunt me.

I’m halfway through the book, but the more progress I make, the more questions that pop up. I have no idea where the story is leading to. Nonetheless, I’m enjoying the writing style of Ishiguro.

This was a slow read for me in the beginning, as I just started reading again (was in a looong reading rut…) but after 50 pages, the story started to kick in. I’m enjoying it by far, almost done!
