Starting on chapter 4 next....I just have to say 'jaysus', this is pure pleasure! That voice....the scary as f....story by J.D Kirk!
W O W !

This, to me, is as scary as any crime, horror, psychological thriller or other heinous tales.
A nightmare. Truly.
And as it is a rising issue, in our world, the reality is the most frightening.

Armitage and Walker are excellent in delivering the story

Much, much better than I expected!
Instagram perfection and styled to the ninth, these people with "perfect" jobs, house, husbands/wife's, kids and in-laws, carry a multilayered dark side rising to the surface. All this while "enjoying" a weekend on an amazing island with perfect villas, views, water....but we don't have to scrape to hard to find the flaws...

About 5h left (audio version) and I'm really, really enjoying this book! Surprised as this is not my usual cuppa!

The perfectioned illusion cracking as the story unravels a multilayered history.

The audiobook version narrated by Stacey Glemboski is good BUT her voice and way of narrating leaves a bit to ask for
It's too clammy and sugar sweet giving me a feeling that she's about to start crying. Too often

It's a harsh, hard, dangerous world and yes, human feelings and love is all that's left, but...it just rubs me the wrong way

Thankfully the books are good and I'll keep listening!

A very enjoyable book about a man and his ordinary life! Do not be fooled, there's a lot going on/there has been a lot going on....like in most peoples lives there is always another story

Oh my! Poor Alan ! This time he's really struggling with himself, his ways and how they have affected his life and, so far into the book, still does.
All "burned out", hurt and homeless this feels like DCI Banks is heading for a turning point in his life. Make or break?

OK...this is sooo far out, and I love it! Finished the first ("Annihilation") of three parts and can't wait to find out what's going on...

Part from the hardship of the crew this is a book full of pain!

The Big Sleep" is a hard-boiled mystery novel by Raymond Chandler, droppin' in 1939. It's all about private dick Philip Marlowe, navigatin' through a web of dames, crime, and shadiness in the mean streets of L.A. Marlowe's got the gift of gab and the chops to crack the case wide open, but he ain't immune to the allure of the dangerous dames and the gritty underworld. It's a real page-turner!

What's not to like when an author produces these kinds of sentences....and in a crime story at that!
"It was the seventh of June 1941, and a lovely day, with clouds like trails of spilled milk spelling out Arabic characters in the sky."

Holy s.....! I was just thrown sideways by a sentence in a book! You guys have to read this

This is so good! What a bunch of egocentric, self-serving and ..."the world evolves around me" crowd!
In a magnificently beautiful scenic surrounding it makes an even bigger contrast - ugly / beauty

OMG someties I wonder why I even go on
When her husband takes care if it all at home and tries to work - she gets upset she´s not involved!
When her mother turnes up to help out WHILE JOANNA IS AT WORK she whines about that too!
She wants to be involved in everything and feels hurt and left out when people/family/friends sort out what needs to be sorted without her!!
And all the time she´s -"too much to do"

Now T H I S is horror/scary.... Feel sick to my stomach at times when descriptions of "certain" meals are being painted out for me...
Really good narrator Ron Perlman!

Well I was expecting something else... Like very different from this!
It's too "easy" , nice and sweet. The surroundings are described but I don't get the feeling I'm after. Yet anyway!

OMG this (audio)book is keeping me on pins and needles! Love the narrator Sarah Naughton - she makes the characters come to live....not that I EVER want to meet some of them!
