this book has such cozy, whimsical vibes. the author has also definitely mastered the ability of implementing good dry humor in a book

the actual mystery of the book has now officially started.... 🙃 I mean it only took about 200 pages

feeling conflicted about this book so far....feel like it needs to start picking up soon

finally getting out of my reading slump....i also wanted to say that i just love shirley jackson's writing style

The introduction was beautifully written and after reading the first short story, The Intoxicated, I can say that Shirley Jackson is amazing at writing seemingly ordinary moments as uncomfortable

I'm obsessed so far. Perfect gothic vibes. I definitely need to read more Shirley Jackson after this.
