I’m in this book and I don’t like it…

I’ve only read chapter one… but somehow this author has almost perfectly described my life.

I’ve made it through the first volume. I dunno if it’s my eyes or just the age of the series but it’s hard to tell what’s going on sometimes.

…and I thought the mustard gas was awful. Yeah, this is the part of the book where you need that violence/gore warning. I’m just hoping it doesn’t get worse…how could it?

Monsters… monsters everywhere…

We have a lot of Chinese mythology/religion/legends going on in this book. We got the 12 zodiac in the 12 provinces (Roosters represent), we got the four Chinese constellations (Black Tortoise, White Tiger, Azure Dragon, Vermilion Phoenix), and now we’re touching on Journey to the West (Can you tell I’m a nerd?)

We’re getting into the complicated philosophy that might just be magic…😵‍💫

"Every you carry the pig up the mountain. Make it drink the water from the stream while you sing." I got to the part with the pig and all I could think about was Holes.

You know those weird coincidences that just kinda happen? I was bored and going through my old movies and settled on watching Bambi. Then I come back to my book and the next pop culture reference was Bambi. These two events happened less than an hour apart. Freaky.

I feel like this would be a fun thing to do… if it weren’t for bears and such. Ever since I started reading Laid-Back Camp, I’ve been wanting to try solo camping… or just rediscover camping altogether. I guess the experience differs depending on where you’re at.

I take it back. We’ve detoured into Gatlinburg.

We’ve gone from Georgia to Tennessee and we just reached Clingman’s Dome. (The one place on this hole that I’ve been to. Beautiful view if you get to the top on a clear day)

I thought I was going into the final battle it gets so intense here…but there’s 4 MORE HOURS!!! What are we going to fill it with?!?!?!

Halfway through and we just hit Part 2.

The dragons are back!

I've had this on my "Currently Reading" shelf for more than a year. I finally started reading it.

I’m down to the last 5 1/2 hours. If I don’t get distracted (more than likely will, though) I could finish it tomorrow!

We met Lord John Grey (Lord John And The Private Matter) for the first time. Or if you've watched the tv series, Jamie's future not-at-all boyfriend.

Leaving France. Going to Scotland. 17 more hours to go.
